New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NewGen IEDC), DMIHER (Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research – Deemed to be University), supported by NSTEDB, DST, Government of India, aims to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young Science & Technology students by encouraging them to develop innovative, commercially viable projects that may evolve into startup ventures. At DMIHER, the centre acts as an institutional mechanism to mentor and support student innovators by facilitating project development, business planning, funding guidance, regulatory support, industry interaction, technology access, and market understanding. The program supports up to twenty high-potential projects per year, encouraging multidisciplinary collaboration and entrepreneurship-driven learning within the academic ecosystem. Through innovation camps, hackathons, competitions, expert sessions, and mentorship initiatives, NewGen IEDC at DMIHER channels youth potential into knowledge-based enterprise creation, employment generation, and meaningful contribution to national economic growth.
